What happens to your receipt

The short version: we check it, then it's gone.

How it works

  1. 1. A scanner reads the shop name and the total on your receipt.
  2. 2. If both match what you entered, it’s verified right away. If not, a person on our team checks it.
  3. 3. As soon as it’s verified or turned down, the receipt is deleted automatically.

We only look at two things

The shop’s name and the total. We don’t read or save anything else on it, like your name, address, VIN or card details.

It’s deleted for good

There’s no archive and no backup copy. Once it’s deleted, nobody can get it back, including us. If a person needs to look, they get a private link that stops working after two minutes, and we record who opened it.

What we keep

Only whether the price was verified, and when. Other people just see a “verified” badge on your report. Your receipt is never shown to anyone, not even the shop on it.

Why we do it this way

Receipts often have personal details on them. Keeping them after we’re done would put that information at risk for no reason, so we don’t.

Shop documents work the same way

When a shop proves it owns a listing (with a business licence, utility bill or insurance certificate), a person checks it once and it’s deleted as soon as they decide.

It’s optional

You never have to upload a receipt. Your report still counts toward the prices other owners see. It just won’t have the verified badge.
